Eurospider was founded in 1995 by Peter Schäuble as an ETH Zurich spin-off company. This founding was the logical consequence of the increasing demand for information retrieval systems, which were developed at ETH Zurich under the direction of Peter Schäuble. Eurospider had a successful start with the indexing of federal court decisions, the digitization of library catalogs (Zurich Central Library) and name matching for major banks (CS and UBS). In 2001, a financing round was carried out together with the Zurich Cantonal Bank. This enabled the professionalization of software development and marketing.
