A large number of IT lawyers go for Ethical Legal Outsourcing as an independent contractor to provide them with different legal and nonlegal support services. Although there is nothing unethical as such with a lawyer outsourcing legal and non-legal services, there are numerous ethical landmines. Lawyers should be very careful to make sure that outsourced legal services are rendered in line with the ethical and legal requirements of the lawyer. The lawyer might be required to give the client information about the outsourcing relationship before involving the services of the outsourcing entity, and possibly in obtaining informed consent of the client.
